Weak is the New Strong
Some days, I feel an overwhelming heaviness in my heart. Often for things that I can't change, but feel a responsibility to do something about. Sometimes the only thing I can do is take it to God. To get down on my knees in prayer and surrender. This is not a sign of hopelessness though. When these moments come, God has me exactly where he wants me. Completely in need of and reliant on Him.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 says: But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Some of you might read that and think, WTH. Why would we delight in hardships or persecutions? Friends, these are the times we can really see God show up. When we know we had nothing to give but our prayers and we saw God work miracles, this is where He can really show His greatness. This is where we can really let His light shine through us.
So as hard as it may feel to share your burdens and relinquish control, it truly is the best thing. Bring your burdens to God. Lay them at His feet and then trust that He can move the mountains in your life that you couldn't move on your own. Trust that He loves you abundantly and with a perfect love that is greater than any other we know.
If you don't know what that even looks like or where to even begin, ask me. Not because I have all of the answers, because I sure don't and not because I am any better than anyone else out there, the struggle is real, but because I have been walking with God for the past 10 years now and would love to share with you a little bit about my journey and how I got to Him and how He has moved some mountains in my life. His love is so real and a relationship with him is life changing!! If this is you, I pray for boldness to take the first step and just reach out. No judgment and no expectations, just ears that will listen and a heart that cares.
